TACLOBAN CITY – The city government here last week started to intensify its campaign against dengue and called on people to conduct their own sanitation activities.

Dr. Gloria Fabrigas, the city health officer, reported that 132 dengue cases have been monitored by their office from January 3 to June 18, 2022.

Last year, Tacloban had 40 cases of dengue over the same period.

Fabrigas said the last time Tacloban posted significant cases of dengue fever was in 2019 when it recorded more than 2,000 cases.

The Department of Health (DOH) in the region reported that as of June 18, Eastern Visayas has 2,104 dengue cases with seven deaths.
