LUCENA CITY—Eight people were injured Wednesday when a passenger jeep fell into an eight-foot creek in Guinayangan town in Quezon province.
Guinayangan police reported Thursday that the vehicle was on a descent around 8:30 p.m. on a sharp road curve in Barangay Dancalan Central when its driver, Leonilo Arellano, lost control of his jeepney.
The wayward vehicle fell off the creek, police said.
The driver and his seven passengers suffered injuries, and were taken to Guinayangan Medicare Hospital for treatment.
Police Major Eric Veluz, Guinayangan cop chief, said the driver was transferred to another hospital in Lucena for further treatment due to bad injuries.
“The victims came from a wedding party and were going home when the accident happened,” Veluz said in a phone interview Thursday.
