1 dead, 1 hurt as car falls into ravine in Mountain Province

BAGUIO CITY––A college student died, and his companion suffered injuries after the vehicle carrying them plunged Wednesday, Feb. 23, into a 50-foot-deep ravine along the Bontoc-Baguio Road in Mountain Province.
The fatality was Darryl Maggay of the Mountain Province State Polytechnic College in Tadian town.

His injured companion was Sergeant Cornelio Cudli, a Philippine Army member residing in Maba-ay, Bauko town, in Mountain Province.

Bontoc police said Cudli was driving the white sport utility vehicle but lost control of the car, causing it to fall into the ravine.
Residents responded immediately and took the victims to the Bontoc General Hospital.
Physicians later declared Maggay dead, investigators said.
