5 suspects yield P107K ‘shabu’ in Cavite drug busts

LUCENA CITY––Police arrested five drug suspects and seized more than P107,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) during separate buy-bust operations Wednesday and Thursday in Bacoor City, Cavite province.

The Calabarzon police reported that anti-narcotics agents busted around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday Marlon Carlos, Melchor Antonio, and Ceejhay Antonio after selling a pack of shabu to an undercover cop acting as a poseur-buyer in Barangay Kaingen.

Authorities confiscated from’ the suspects 16 grams of shabu with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P100,500.

In Barangay San Nicolas 3, anti-illegal drugs operatives collared Ariel Bustamante and Juvic Escabarte in another sting operation at 3:18 a.m. Thursday.

Police said the suspects carried six plastic sachets of shabu worth P6,800 in the street market.

The suspects, who face a formal complaint for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are under local police custody.
