MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Leni Robredo reunited with the same person who served her food at a famous Bicol diner in 1990 when the food chain had just started operating.

The first photo posted on Robredo’s personal Facebook account on Tuesday showed her sitting beside her late husband, former Naga, Camarines Sur mayor and Interior secretary Jesse Robredo, at the opening of Bigg’s Diner in the said city.

In the background was one of the food chain’s servers who wore a red hat and red pants. Robredo shared that on Monday, during a thanksgiving dinner hosted by her high school batchmates, the same person who served food to them was present to do it again, 32 years later.

“Two pictures taken 32 years apart. The first one was in 1990 at the Opening of Biggs, which has since become the most successful homegrown food chain in Bicol,” Robredo said.

“The second pic was taken last night at a Thanksgiving Dinner with my High School batchmates, catered by Biggs. Ambe Francisco was the same person who served us food. He showed me his phone and his wallpaper was this first pic from many years ago. Ang happy lang,” she added.

The outgoing Vice President, however, lamented that they could not recreate the photo again, as her husband had passed away in August 2012 due to a plane crash.

“Thank you to Tina Señar who took the second pic. Sayang we couldn’t recreate the exact one because Jess is no longer with us,” she added.

Vice President Robredo has been in Camarines Sur for several days now, leading the oath-taking of officials in her hometown Naga City last June 18. On Monday, Robredo administered the oath-taking of other Camarines Sur officials, including those from Magarao town.
