MANILA, Philippines — The transition of the vice presidency has been smooth, Vice President Leni Robredo’s spokesperson Barry Gutierrez said on Sunday.
Gutierrez said that Robredo is prepared to turn over the leadership to incoming vice president Sara Duterte by June 30 despite not personally meeting yet.

“Nagkaroon na ng ilang meeting ang staff ni VP Leni at ni VP-elect Sara, although silang dalawa hindi pa nakakapag-meeting nang personal,” he said during the BISErbisyong LENI program aired on RMN DZXL.
(The staff of VP Leni and VP-elect Sara have had meetings, although the two are yet to meet personally.)
“Maayos naman ang koordinasyon. Maayos naman ang pag-uusap. Smooth naman ang ating nagiging transition at ‘yan naman ang ating talagang pakay dito sa puntong ito at handang-handa na para pagpapalit ng pamumuno sa noon ng June 30,” he noted.
(The coordination and talks went well. The transition is smooth, which is our goal at this point, and we are ready for the leadership turnover by noon of June 30.)
According to Gutierrez, Robredo has given a walkthrough tour to Duterte’s staff at the Quezon City Reception House, the current location of the Office of the Vice President (OVP).
Duterte recently said that she will hold office at the Quezon City Reception House and at the Department of Education Central Office in Pasig City as she was appointed as the next education chief.

Gutierrez likewise shared that the OVP will have a general assembly on June 27, the last under the leadership of Robredo. He said that an invitation was sent to Duterte.
While Duterte is set to take her oath of office on Sunday, June 19, Robredo will step down from her post by noon of June 30.
