298 nabbed in 10-day operations in Batangas

LUCENA CITY––Police arrested 298 suspected law violators in Batangas province, including 115 alleged drug pushers, in 10 days of synchronized operations.

In a report, Col. Glicerio Cansilao, Batangas police chief, said on Sunday, May 29, that anti-illegal drug operatives, from May 18 to 27, collared 115 drug suspects and seized 61.95 grams of “shabu” (crystal meth) and 21.1 grams of marijuana with a combined street value of P424,512.

The police arrested 97 wanted criminals, 80 illegal gamblers, and six with undocumented firearms.

Sacleo replaced the “one-time, big-time operation,” an all-out war of the police against all local forms of criminality in a given period.
