‘High-value’ drug suspect falls in Batangas bust, yields stolen firearm
LUCENA CITY––Police arrested Wednesday an armed drug suspect in a buy-bust operation in this city.
Col. Glicerio Cansilao, Batangas police chief, reported that anti-narcotics agents busted Jessie Gumban in Barangay Cuta at 5:24 p.m.
The suspect, classified as a “high-value” target, yielded 13.5 grams of shabu with a street value of P91,000.
Gumban was found carrying an undocumented caliber 9-mm pistol with five bullets.
Upon verification of the confiscated firearm, the issued service gun to a local policeman was stolen on Aug. 6 last year.

Article continues after this advertisementThe suspect was detained and will face a formal complaint in violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Gumban will also be charged with illegal possession of a firearm and violating the election gun ban.
