Active COVID-19 cases in Zambales rise to three

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — A new COVID-19 case was recorded in the province, raising to three its number of active infections, data from the Provincial Health Office (PHO) showed Monday.

The new cases were registered in the town of San Narciso, which was free of COVID-19 for a few weeks.

Data showed that the province’s two other active COVID-19 cases were logged in the towns of Palauig and Sta. Cruz.

According to the PHO, 10 of the 13 towns in the province remained free of COVID-19.

Since 2020, Zambales has logged 11,641 COVID-19 cases with 11,287 recoveries. At least 664 residents died of the viral disease.

The province will stay under the most lenient COVID-19 alert level 1 until May 31, along with the rest of Central Luzon. INQ
