Ilocos provinces stay under COVID-19 Alert Level 1
LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte—The Ilocos region is staying under COVID-19 Alert Level 1 from May 16 to 31, Malacañang announced Sunday, May 15.
Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan, including Dagupan City will remain under the most lenient alert level classification.
Data from the regional Department of Health (DOH) released May 16 show that the average daily COVID-19 cases in Ilocos stood at three from May 8 to 14.
This was lower than the cases reported in the previous week, the DOH said.
At least 19 new cases were added to the regional COVID-19 tally from May 8 to 14, it added.
Article continues after this advertisementThere were no new severe and critical cases among the new ones logged. The regional DOH had verified at least 184 deaths due to COVID-19 in the previous week.
Article continues after this advertisementDOH also reported that at least three of the active COVID-19 cases admitted to hospitals were severe and critical.
At least 44, or 19 percent of the 237 ICU (intensive care unit) beds for suspect, probable, and confirmed COVID-19 cases are in use, the DOH said.
As of May 14, regional DOH data showed that 84 percent of the 4.3-million covered individuals had been vaccinated fully against COVID-19. At least 764,477 of these had received booster shots. INQ
