P355,000 worth of 'shabu' seized from two suspects in Zambales

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — More than P355,000 worth of illegal drugs were confiscated from two suspects in San Marcelino town in this province early this week, authorities said Thursday.

Police arrested Hamel Mendalano, 31, who yielded about 54 grams of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) worth P355,500 on Monday, according to the Police Regional Office 3.

Mendalano’s companion, who was identified as Reynald Gulmatico, 40, managed to elude arrest during the busy-bust operation in Barangay San Guillermo.

Also seized during the operation was the P500 buy-bust money.

The arrested suspect will be charged with violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
