‘Refrain from complacency,’ Marcos camp tells supporters

MANILA, Philippines — “Refrain from complacency,” lawyer Vic Rodriguez, the chief of staff and spokesperson of presidential bet Ferdinand Marcos Jr., urged supporters in a statement issued on Wednesday.
The former senator may still be leading in the latest Pulse Asia survey, but his rating dipped by four percentage points from 60% percent in February to the latest 56%.
“Once again, presidential frontrunner Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. leads by a strong majority preference rating at 56% in the latest Pulse Asia survey conducted from March 17 to March 21, 2022, fueled by an equally resolute 53% trust rating as shown in the more recent Laylo survey,” Rodriguez said.
“Although 32 days remain before the national and local elections, we entreat our supporters, volunteers, and campaigners to refrain from complacency and remain focused on achieving our common target of 70% presidential preference mark,” he added.
As Marcos showed a dip in his score, Vice President Leni Robredo inched closer, gaining nine percentage points — rising from February’s 15% to the current 24%.
Marcos still leads in all areas: 64% in Metro Manila, 54% in Balance Luzon, 48% in the Visayas, and 62% in Mindanao.
In contrast, Robredo only got 17% in Metro Manila, 30% in Balance Luzon, 28% in the Visayas, and 14% in Mindanao.
However, Marc0s registered negative points in all areas: -2 in Metro Manila, -4 in Balance Luzon, -5 in the Visayas, and -6 in Mindanao.
Robredo lost one percentage point in Metro Manila but scored big with a +14 in Balance Luzon, and +9 each in the Visayas and Mindanao.
Despite the slight dip, Rodriguez remains optimistic that the goal of a 70 percent voter preference for Marcos is still possible.
“We acknowledge the overwhelming support of the people as the Pulse Asia survey results clearly show, but the challenge to make history shall remain kindled until election day, and even beyond,” he said.
“We shall not rest until the 70% preference survey polls position is attained, until every vote is counted and the aspirations of the Filipino people become a reality. Maraming salamat po!” he added.
