3 NPA rebels killed in Misamis Oriental encounter
MANILA, Philippines — Three New People’s Army (NPA) rebels died in an encounter with government forces in Claveria, Misamis Oriental on Friday, the military reported on Sunday.
The military, in a statement, said that soldiers were on combat operation when they encountered around seven NPA rebels in Sitio Solana, Barangay Plaridel on Friday, March 18.
The soldiers and rebels later figured in a ten-minute firefight, which led to the death of three rebels, according to the military.
Another NPA rebel was captured after the operations.
Recovered from the rebels were several high-powered forearms and ammunition and documents.
