MANILA, Philippines — Mocha Uson is now a certified “Domagoso Diehard Supporter.”
Uson, a high profile supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte, formally announced on Friday her support to the presidential bid of Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso after attending the latter’s campaign rally in Kawit, Cavite.
“Alam niyo, kaya po nandito na ako ngayon, ay dahil nag ‘Switch to Isko’ na din po ako,” Uson told the audience.
(You know, I am here today because I already “Switched to Isko.”)
Uson, who popularized the term Duterte Diehard Supporters (DDS), said she sees the “young Duterte” in Moreno.
“Ako po ay naririto, pang ipakita ang aking suporta sa ating susunod na pangulo, dahil nakita ko po kay Mayor Isko ang batang Pangulong Duterte,” Uson said.
(I am here to show my support to our next president, because I see in Mayor Isko the young President Duterte.)
As a longtime resident in Manila, Uson also said that she voted for Moreno when he was running for mayor of the capital city.
No less than Moreno coined the new meaning of the acronym DDS — Domagoso Diehard Supporters — as more supporters of the incumbent president are now expressing their support for the Manila chief executive’s presidential bid.
Vivian Velez, another high profile “DDS,” created a coalition in support of the tandem of Moreno and Davao mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.
The volunteer group which supported Duterte’s candidacy is also now backing Moreno’s presidential bid.
