BI reminds foreigners: Comply with 2022 annual report or face sanctions

MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Thursday reminded all registered foreigners in the country to file their 2022 annual reports (AR) by March 1 or they will face sanctions.
According to BI Commissioner Jaime Morente in an advisory, the AR deadline will not be extended as BI-registered aliens should report in person to the bureau within the first 60 days of every calendar year under the alien registration act.
Foreign nationals who fail to file their AR may be met with sanctions, including fines or deportation, said Morente.
Under the said rules, all foreign nationals registered under the BI who are holders of immigrant and non-immigrant visas are obliged to comply with the annual reportorial requirement. Filers must present their original alien certificate of registration identity card (ACR ICard) and their valid passport.
Exempted from personally appearing at the BI office, however, are registered foreigners who are 14 years old and below, those who are aged 65 years and above, pregnant women, persons with disabilities, and those who are mentally and physically incapacitated.
They may instead file their annual report through their authorized representative together with an authorization letter or any BI-accredited liaison officer.
Aside from the BI main office in Intramuros, Manila, they may also file their AR with the different field, district, satellite and extension offices of the bureau nationwide.
Foreigners who have not yet filed their AR are urged to secure their slots through the BI’s online appointment system.
