Pacquiao aims to rid 70% of gov’t corruption in 2-3 years if elected president

MANILA, Philippines — Senator Manny Pacquiao is eyeing to eradicate 70 percent of corruption in the government within two to three years of his administration if he gets elected in the May polls.

In an interview on Friday, Pacquiao was asked how long it will take him to solve corruption in the country.

The boxer-turned-politician has repeatedly said that eradicating government corruption is his top priority if he becomes the next president of the country.

“’Pag ako naupo, bigyan nyo ako ng dalawang taon. Two to three years malaki ang pagbabago. Siguro nasa mga 70% na ang nasugpo natin na korapsyon,” Pacquiao said.

“May maganda kasi kaming plano. Excited nga ako eh. May maganda akong plano kasi—kaya lang ‘di ko pwedeng sabihin at napag-usapan namin ni Bro. Eddie Villanueva na ‘yung idea niya.”

“Kaya sabi ko, nawa’y tanggapin nya ang alok ko sa kanyang ilalagay ko siyang anti-corruption czar para pamunuan nya yung anti-corruption at maipakulong natin yung mga dapat ipakulong,” he added.
