MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck off Sabtang, Batanes on Saturday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
Based on Phivolcs’ bulletin, the tectonic quake hit 45 kilometers southwest of Sabtang at 8:41 a.m.
It has a 61-kilometer depth of focus, Phivolcs noted.

The agency said that there are no reported intensities. However, aftershocks are expected.
According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, there are no damages reported by their regional office so far.
