Magnitude 5.1 earthquake rocks parts of Mindanao
MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 5.1 earthquake jolted Kiamba town in Sarangani province, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said on Friday night.
Phivolcs said the earthquake’s epicenter was traced 49 kilometers from Kiamba.
The earthquake was felt at Intensity IV in Kiamba and Maitum, Intensity III in General Santos City, Zamboanga City, Cotabato City, Maasim in Sarangani, Norala, Tupi and Lake Sebu in South Cotabato.
No damage is expected but Phivolcs said that aftershocks may follow.
