MANILA, Philippines — A mobile booster vaccination is set to start in Navotas City on February 14 to maintain the protection of the local government’s bedridden constituents against COVID-19.
The mobile vaccination team will go around the city’s 18 barangays to inject AstraZeneca booster doses to residents who cannot go to immunization centers.
“We want Navoteños, especially those sick and vulnerable, to remain protected against COVID-19. If they can’t go to our vaccination sites, then we will bring the vaccines to them,” Navotas City Mayor Toby Tiangco said in a statement Saturday.
“If you have a family member who have been vaccinated and are ready to receive their booster dose, have them registered so they can receive their jabs as soon as possible,” he added.
Individuals who are interested to avail the mobile vaccination services may register through their barangays or through the Navoteno Ako Facebook page.
As of February 10, a total of 194,752 Navotas residents are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Of which, 47,527 got their booster shot.
Nationally, around 60 million individuals are fully immunized against COVID-19 with some eight million people receiving their booster dose.
