MANILA, Philippines — The proclamation rally of vice presidential candidate Sara Duterte-Carpio is not in her father President Rodrigo Duterte’s schedule, Malacañang said Tuesday.
“As per appointments of Malacañang, walang ganyang entry sa kanyang official calendar as of last night,” Cabinet Secretary and acting presidential spokesman Karlo Nograles said in a briefing.
(There is no such entry in the President’s official calendar as of last night.)
Duterte-Carpio’s proclamation rally, alongside her running mate Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s, is set to be held at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan on Feb. 8, as the 2022 elections campaign period opened.

On the eve of the opening of the campaign period, Duterte said he is not supporting “at this time” any presidential candidate as he still has to make up his mind.
The President, however, previously criticized Marcos Jr. as a “weak leader.”
His party, the now split PDP-Laban, does not have any standard-bearer for the 2022 elections. However, the party has adopted the President’s daughter as its vice-presidential candidate.
Duterte earlier supported the presidential bid of his long-time aid Senator Bong Go but the latter withdrew from the race.
