ROXAS, Isabela — Rescuers on Sunday, February 6, retrieved the bodies of two Grade 8 students who reportedly drowned after they went boating at a lake in Tadian town, Mountain Province that day.

Police identified the fatalities as Flander Tipac and Wilmar Padongay, both 13 years old and students of Dacudac National High School in Tadian.

Investigators said the two and their three companions went boating at Gawaan Lake in Barangay Bana-ao and reportedly ventured into the lake’s deeper part.

The children jumped off the boat when they felt it would turn on its side, police said.

Rescue personnel and volunteers searched for the victims and retrieved their bodies hours after the children went missing. INQ
