QC hospital temporarily stops face-to-face consultations starting January 5

MANILA, Philippines — The Rosario Maclang Bautista General Hospital (RMBGH) in Quezon City on Tuesday announced that it will temporarily stop its face-to-face consultations starting Jan. 5.

“Pansamantalang isasara ang OPD (Out-Patient Department) face-to-face consultation at lahat ng pasyente ay ikukonsulta sa ating RMBGH telemedicine consultation,” said the hospital management in an advisory.

(The OPD face-to-face consultation will be temporarily closed and all patients will be consulted at our RMBGH telemedicine consultation.)

Meanwhile, in a separate statement, the Quezon City Public Information Office said that the hospital’s telemedicine consultation will open Jan. 4, Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Earlier, the National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI) also announced that it will be closing its outpatient services starting Jan. 7 due to the surge of COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila.

These announcements came amid a dramatic rise in COVID-19 cases in the country, especially in Metro Manila, which was placed under alert level 3 to curb the further spread of COVID-19.

On the same day, the Department of Health reported 5,434 new cases nationwide, of which 3,826 or 71 percent were from the National Capital Region.
