MANILA, Philippines — Aspiring president and Senator Manny Pacquiao would look into the “endo” or end of labor contractualization as his program for laborers should he win the country’s highest post in 2022.
“My program for our laborers’ yung pag-aralan natin mabuti ‘yung ‘endo,’ ‘yung pinu-push nila (to review the ‘endo’ that they are pushing),” Pacquiao said during the Rotary Club Manila Weekly Membership meeting on Thursday wherein he spoke before big businesses for the first time as a presidential bet.
Noting that he, too, was a laborer before, Pacquiao agreed to end labor contractualization.
“Kailangan ang gagawin natin, lalo na ‘yung pinu-push nila ‘yung ‘endo’ matapos ‘yung contractualization. Pag-aralan natin kasi maraming mga consideration diyan,” the senator said.
(What we need to do is to study the “endo” that they are pushing for because it has many considerations.)
“Agree ako diyan sa pag-end ng contractualization at masuportahan natin ‘yung mga workers natin,” he added.
(I agree to end contractualization to support our workers.)
Further, Pacquiao said that workers should be appreciated as they are working to sustain their families.
“So, kawawa ‘yung mga kababayan natin na nagsisikap at hindi natin pinapahalagahan. Kailangan pahalagahan natin dahil nagsisikap ‘yan sila para sa kanilang pamilya,” he said.
(Our fellow Filipinos are pitiful because they are very diligent yet we do not appreciate them. We need to appreciate them because they are striving for their family.)
“So, ‘yan po sinisigurado ko sa inyo mahal ko po ‘yung mga workers natin,” Pacquiao assured.
(I assure you, I love our workers.)
