Calbayog in Samar now allows fully vaxxed travelers to enter city

TACLOBAN CITY––The city government of Calbayog in Samar province will now allow travelers to enter the city as long as they are fully vaccinated.

Travelers only need to present their vaccination cards as mandated under the executive order issued by Mayor Diego Rivera on Nov. 2.

Based on the order, travelers or guests would no longer be required to present a negative swab test result and a certificate of acceptance from the city government. There is also no need to undergo quarantine if they are fully vaccinated.

Hotels, inns, and other accommodation facilities are likewise mandated to accept only fully vaccinated guests as their personnel should also be fully vaccinated.

Fully vaccinated tourists would be allowed to visit the city’s tourism destinations.

Calbayog City, known for its beautiful waterfalls, has vaccinated 30,808 persons. Of the number, 22,111 have received their second dose.

The city targets to inoculate 136,765 persons to achieve herd immunity.

Unvaccinated persons can enter Calbayog, but they shall be required to present a negative swab test result taken 72 hours before their travel date and a certificate of acceptance from the city government.

If these unvaccinated persons could not present any negative swab test result, they will be quarantined for 14 days.
