BACOLOD CITY – The Sipalay City treasurer’s office and  birthing unit have been temporarily closed after eight employees tested positive for COVID-19.

Executive Assistant Dionilo Bogtae, head of the Sipalay Emergency Assistance and Rescue Services, said the birthing unit was closed starting Tuesday after seven employees tested positive for COVID-19.

One employee at the treasurer’s office also tested positive for the virus. At least 23 close contacts of the patient have been swabbed to determine if they were infected with the virus.

The offices will be closed until disinfection has been undertaken in these areas.
