Missing fisherman from Siaton, Negros Oriental found alive

DUMAGUETE CITY — A fisherman from Siaton, Negros Oriental, who went missing for two days, was found alive in Tambisan, Siquijor.

Alfredo Palalon went fishing last Sunday despite the bad weather and could not be located by his family.

Based on the police investigation, Palalon’s pump boat capsized at the sea waters off Tambobo Bay in Siaton town.

Palalon was floating for 41 hours with a 6 -liter water bottle as his buoyant.

He eventually reached an islet in Siquijor on Tuesday night, October 12, 2021.

In an interview, Palalon said he refused to give up while floating in the sea.

“I need to live because I have a family to take care of,” he said in Cebuano.
