JV Ejercito seeks Senate comeback in 2022 elections
MANILA, Philippines — Former senator JV Ejercito is seeking reelection as he filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for senator on Saturday, the second day of filing.
Ejercito arrived at the Harbor Garden Tent in Sofitel hotel in Pasay City at around 2 pm to lodge his COC.
He served as a senator from 2013 to 2019. His shot for a Senate seat in the 2019 elections was unsuccessful.
Before his Senate term, he was a representative of San Juan City from 2010 to 2013, and also served as the city’s mayor from 2001 to 2010.
“Our country deserves the good ones who will help achieve prosperity for all, not leaders who think only about lining their pockets with public money,” Ejercito said then in an online briefing last September 24 when he declared his senatorial bid.
