MANILA, Philippines — Presidential aspirant Senator Panfilo Lacson sees a “very slim” chance for the opposition or non-administration forces to field a single ticket for the 2022 elections.

“I cannot see the possibility na matutuloy pa yung one unity ticket ng opposition [that the one unity ticket of the opposition will push through]. Medyo malabo [It’s unlikely],” Lacson said in an interview on ABS-CBN News Channel on Tuesday.

“Very slim yung chance na kung meron mang opening yung door, I think napakasikip na yung daraanan na pinto pagdating dito,” he added.

Lacson was among the presidential aspirants that Vice President Leni Robredo met with in a bid to “forge the broadest possible unity among groups and individuals seeking change in 2022.”

“Let’s wait for October 8. The last day of filing and even Nov. 15, the last day for substitution before we can really conclude kung ilan yung talagang formally or officially yung [how many are formally or officially] candidates for president and vice president,” the Lacson added.
