Caloocan LGU opens drive-thru vax sites for delivery riders
MANILA, Philippines — The Caloocan City government on Tuesday opened a drive-thru COVID-19 vaccination site that cater to delivery riders.
Mayor Oscar Malapitan said vaccination sites at SM Sangandaan in Caloocan South and Caloocan Sports Complex in Caloocan North were opened for the essential workers, who are still working outside even during the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).
Some 1,000 delivery riders from Caloocan will receive AstraZeneca vaccines on Tuesday, according to Malapitan.
“Inuna natin bakunahan sa launching ng inisyatibong ito ang ating mga delivery rider na batid nating mahalaga higit na ngayong ECQ,” Malapitan said in a statement.
(We vaccinated the delivery riders first during the launch of this initiative because we know that their role is important especially during ECQ.)
