San Juan to start home vaccinations of seniors, bedridden residents
MANILA, Philippines — San Juan City will start home vaccination of seniors and bedridden residents against COVID-19 starting on Wednesday.
According to the city government, the home vaccination program will start in Barangay Batis at 10 a.m. and will be led by San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora.
“We have to come up with this mechanism to make sure that the bedridden patients and senior citizens, who are not capable to physically go to our vaccination sites because of their medical conditions, will be inoculated at the safety of their homes,” Zamora said.
“These San Juaneños, despite their being confined in their respective homes all this time, might still get the virus from the other members of their household and we do not want that to happen as all of them who are either senior citizens or persons with severe medical conditions have compromised immune systems,” he added.
Zamora also assured that the city’s medical workers will make sure that bedridden patients are physically and medically qualified to receive the vaccines.
