COVID-19 death toll now at 28,141 with 48 more fatalities
MANILA, Philippines — The country’s COVID-19 death toll now stands at 28,141 after 48 more patients succumbed to the disease.
There are now 1,612,541 total confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country, following the reporting of 6,879 more infection cases.
This is lower than the over 8,000 daily additional cases reported by the Department of Health (DOH) for four consecutive days since Friday.
The DOH said, “the relatively low cases today is due to fewer samples received last Sunday.”
Of the current total count, 63,137 remain as active cases. Of the active tally, 2.1 percent are severe and 1.2 percent are critical who are at higher risk for death.
Article continues after this advertisementMeanwhile, 94 percent of the cases are mild, 1.3 percent are asymptomatic, and 1.46 percent are moderate cases.
