Container van filled with used clothes yields 4 sports cars — BOC
MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) on Wednesday seized four sports cars that were hidden in a container van filled with bales of used clothing at the Manila International Container Port (MICP).
In a statement, the BOC said the Manila International Container Port’s Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service examined the shipment on Wednesday, which led to the discovery of the vehicles that were misdeclared as spare parts.
Seized were a Porsche Boxster, a Mercedes Benz SLK, and two Toyota MR-S.
The four vehicles originated from Japan and have a combined estimated value of P10 million, the BOC said.
The vehicles were consigned to a certain JLFDM Consumer Goods Trading, according to the BOC.
