Bodies of 2 males found 2 days after going missing off Camotes Island

CEBU CITY –– Authorities have found the bodies of two young men two days after they went missing while swimming off Camotes Island waters in Cebu Monday.

John Mark Donaire Gerodias, 18, was found floating along Canlusong Wharf in San Francisco town at 9:05 a.m. on Wednesday.

An hour later, the body of Clark Costanilla Paradero, 21, was retrieved along the shores of Barangay South Poblacion in San Francisco.

The two went swimming with friends at Camotes Islands in Cebu amid huge waves brought about by Typhoon “Bising.”

Rescuers found four others.

The Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Coast Guard, local police, and rescue teams from Camotes conducted search-and-rescue operations to search for the two victims.

The Camotes Island group, located northwest of mainland Cebu, includes San Francisco, Poro, Tudela, and Pilar towns.
