‘Ayuda’ distribution deadline extended until May 15
MANILA, Philippines — The deadline for the distribution of aid to citizens adversely affected by the implementation of enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila and adjacent provinces has been extended until May 15, 2021, Malacañang said Tuesday.
“In-extend ang deadline na makumpletong pamamahagi ng financial assistance hanggang 15 ng Mayo 2021,” presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said in a Palace briefing.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) earlier told local government units they must complete the distribution of financial aid in 15 days after receipt of the funds or within 30 days if the assistance is in-kind.”
It earlier said the funds will be released to LGUs starting April 5.
Roque said the extension was decided to avoid mass gatherings even as the distribution process is being adjusted to make it “flexible.”
Local chief executives s have also appealed for an extension, Roque said.
