‘Pikon na pikon ako:’ DILG exec irked as Mark Anthony Fernandez vaccinated early

MANILA, Philippines – An official of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) expressed displeasure on Wednesday after reports emerged that actor Mark Anthony Fernandez was vaccinated against COVID-19 despite not being on the government’s priority list.

“Kaninang umaga, napipikon ako, pikon na pikon ako dahil dito sa Parañaque, may artista na binakunahan, yung Mark Anthony Fernandez,”  DILG Undersecretary Epimaco Densing III said in an interview over DZBB.

(Earlier, I was furious because I got word that in Parañaque, the actor Mark Anthony Fernandez had been vaccinated.)

“Meron tayong priority list, may programa na sinusunod. So yung mayor dyan, dapat sinusunod niya at alam niya yung pagi-implement ng vaccination program niya,” he added, referring to Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez.

This comes after reports surfaced that Fernandez got vaccinated with the vaccine manufactured by AstraZeneca in Parañaque City.
