MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday moved to reset the hearing on the alleged rape-killing of flight attendant Christine Dacera, citing that they are awaiting medical reports required by the city prosecutor.
In a press statement, the Makati City prosecutor’s office said the police force is still awaiting the results of the DNA analysis, toxicology/chemical analysis, histopath examination, and laboratory results from Makati Medical Center.
“Hence they moved for the resetting of the preliminary investigation,” read the statement.
Five of the respondents — namely, Rommel Galido, JP Dela Serna, Gregorio De Guzman, Clark Rapinan, and Valentine Rosales — responded to the complaint filed against them through a joint counter-affidavit.
De Guzman, previously questioned the rape-killing angle in Dacera’s death, saying he is a member of the LGBTQ+ community.
The next hearing is scheduled on Jan. 27, 2020 at 9 a.m.
On Jan. 6, the city prosecutor tossed back Makati police’s provisional charge of rape with homicide after it found that it “sorely” lacked evidence to prove that Dacera was sexually abused and killed.

Despite the lack of medical records, Dacera’s family still believes that the 23-year-old victim was raped, drugged and killed.
