A woman was arrested after she took a bag of methamphetamine to the police, stating that it was “junk.”

Beth Ann Franchak had purchased the drugs in Florida, USA, for $20 (around P960). However, she later decided that they were not of the quality she wanted and turned them over to an officer on Oct. 1.

The bag contained about a quarter gram of a “white, crystal-like substance,” as per The Smoking Gun on Oct. 3. After taking the drugs from the 52-year-old, police conducted a test on it and confirmed that it was indeed methamphetamine.

Authorities then arrested her for possession of a controlled substance and booked her into a local jail. According to the report, the police released Fanchak later in the same day on a $2,000 (P96,900) bond.

Prior to her arrest, court records showed that she had been convicted of violating a domestic violence protection order. Ryan Arcadio /ra
