COVID-19 cases in PNP breach 5,000 as 113 new infections logged

MANILA, Philippines — The total number of COVID-19 cases in the ranks of the Philippine National Police (PNP) has breached the 5,000-mark on Sunday.

In an update, the PNP reported 113 new infections among its personnel, bringing the tally to 5,060.

Of this number, 3,623 have already recovered. Meanwhile, 16 have died from the disease.

The PNP added that it is also monitoring 758 probable cases of COVID-19 and 3,368 suspected cases.

To date, the Philippines has logged 261,216 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 207,568 recoveries and 4,371 deaths.
