BAGUIO CITY –– A couple accused of supplying nightclub entertainers with shabu (crystal meth) was arrested at an apartment in Barangay Loakan Proper on Wednesday, September 2.

Taxi driver Patrick Roger Catbagan, 33, and his 28-year-old girlfriend Maryjane Nunag, a club entertainer, sold a gram of shabu worth P5,000 to an undercover agent at 6:50 p.m. during a sting operation.

Three more heat-sealed sachets of shabu, valued at P95,200, were seized from the suspects after police and agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested them.

Catbagan was earlier arrested on November 6, 2015 but was acquitted from drug charges on April 12, 2018, said Intelligence Agent 1 Renier Tinong, chief of the PDEA-Cordillera Regional Special Enforcement Team, who supervised the operation. The taxi driver has been under a PDEA watchlist.
