4 minors caught with bank loot

/ 01:21 AM January 22, 2012

The Caloocan City police arrested early Saturday morning four minors who allegedly broke into a bank and almost carted away several of its equipment worth at least P20,000.

PO2 Mark Andrew Bartolome, one of the responding officers, told the Inquirer that the minors, two boys aged 14 and  two boys aged 15, gained access to the RCBC Savings Bank on Susano Road in Camarin by cutting open a small hole on its galvanized roof.

“They have small bodies so it was fairly easy for them to fit in the hole,” Bartolome said.

Although the minors managed to sneak out to the roof three of the bank’s LCD monitors, Bartolome said they couldn’t bring them down because of their weight.

“So when we got to the scene when the bank alarm went off, we saw the LCD monitors up there,” he explained.

One of the minors, Bartolome said, was found hiding in a grassy area near the bank.
