Cagayan’s most wanted nabbed

Police caught up in Valenzuela City on Friday afternoon with one of six high-profile detainees who escaped from the Cagayan Provincial Jail in December.

Romeo Tasi, alias Harris, who was facing a string of criminal cases in Cagayan, was recaptured  in Tampoy II, Barangay Marulas by Caloocan City operatives led by  Chief Insp. Rodrigo Soriano and Senior Insp. Gaylord Tamayo.

Senior Supt. Jude Santos, chief of police, told the Inquirer that Tasi was Cagayan’s most wanted man.

In his report to Chief Supt. Antonio Decano, director of the Northern Police District, Santos said Tasi was the leader of a notorious criminal syndicate engaged in robbery.

Tasi has reportedly been charged with robbery with rape before a court in Tuguegarao City.
