BREAKING: DOH official tests positive for COVID-19
MANILA, Philippines — An undersecretary of the Department of Health (DOH) has tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
This was confirmed by Health Secretary Francisco Duque III on Friday but he did not disclose the identity of the official.
Duque also did not reveal additional details about the patient. The infected DOH official is experiencing mild symptoms, said Duque.
“Yes, with mild symptoms,” Duque told reporters in a text message.
This is the second official of the DOH to have contracted the coronavirus. The first patient is a director in the agency’s Central Office.

Article continues after this advertisementAs of March 26, there are 707 individuals who have been afflicted by the COVID-19, with 45 deaths and 28 recoveries.
