Isko Moreno explains endorsement contracts
Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso explained on Friday his endorsement contracts, saying the talent fees he got were donated to charity and those affected by calamities.
Domagoso was addressing criticism of his ad billboards by netizen Fahima Tajar who cited Section 90 of the Local Government Code, which states that: “All governors, city and municipal mayors are prohibited from practicing their profession or engaging in any occupation other than the exercise of their functions as local chief executives.”
“Vandalism. The nerve to invoke to follow the law. But if it’s you then it’s OK?” she asked.
The actor-turned-politician has outdoor ads, including the Belo Medical Group, Pascual Laboratories and Jag Jeans clothing.
Domagoso said he donated P5 million worth of talent fees from Belo and Pascual Lab to quake-hit Cotabato last year and his modeling fee for Jag Jeans to the Philippine General Hospital.
Recently, he donated P2 million worth of talent fees from Novuhair to families displaced by the Taal eruption.
