Parts of Aurora Blvd. closed for one week

/ 05:08 AM January 26, 2020

Commuters should brace for slightly heavier traffic in Manila, as the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) ordered parts of Aurora Boulevard closed for seven nights to give way to the renovation of the still-shuttered Light Rail Transit 2 Cubao station.

Starting Saturday night to Feb. 1, the westbound (Manila-bound) lane between Oxford and Imperial Street will be closed for a week, MMDA said.

The closure will only take effect from 12 midnight to 5 a.m to minimize traffic, the MMDA said.

The closure would allow the Department of Transportation to move 45 escalator units from a truck to the station via a mobile crane. —Krixia Subingsubing
