PNP: Samar ambush shows NPA’s ‘insincerity’ to give peace a chance
MANILA, Philippines — The latest ambush by the New People’s Army (NPA) in Borongan, Eastern Samar shows that they are “insincere” to give peace a chance, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Saturday.
In a statement, PNP Spokesperson Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac said that the entire police force in “strongest condemnation latest blatant act of un-Christian terror” of the rebels.
The ambush on Friday afternoon killed a police officer and a three-year-old boy.
