4 soldiers dead, 7 hurt in Samar road mishap

MANILA, Philippines — Four soldiers were killed while seven others were hurt after they figured in a road accident in Paranas town, Samar on Tuesday.

According to the Samar Police Provincial Office, a wing van was traversing the national highway heading to Catbalogan City at about 9 a.m. when it accidentally hit a tricycle and then swerved to the opposite route lane where it crashed into the Toyota Hilux truck which carried the soldiers.

Personnel of the Paranas Municipal Police Station have started their investigation into the incident.
