Fisherman found dead in boat docked at Navotas

A man was found dead in a fishing boat that was allegedly being used as a drug den on Saturday morning in Barangay North Bay Boulevard North, Navotas City.

The police said the body of 39-year-old Rene Liman, a fisherman and resident of Barangay North Bay Boulevard South, was discovered by Roger Gipitan who immediately sought help from policemen.

Gipitan told investigators that he saw the victim “kneeling and full of blood” inside the vessel docked at Pier 4 around 8 a.m.

Pat. Ryan Jay Paulo, one of the case investigators, said that Liman died of a gunshot wound to the head.

As for residents’ claim that the boat was being used as a drug den, Police Staff Sergeant Esmeraldo Absuela of the Navotas Maritime Police Station said they could not verify the information just yet.—MEG ADONIS
