Magnitude 3.2 earthquake rattles Tulunan, Cotabato

MANILA, Philippines — The town of Tulunan, Cotabato was rattled with another earthquake on Saturday, this time with a magnitude of 3.2, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

The quake struck at 9:48 a.m. at 24 kilometers northeast of Tulunan.

Phivolcs said that the earthquake was of tectonic origin, and had a 26-kilometer depth of focus.

The tremor was also felt at Reported Intensity III and Instrumental Intensity II, both recorded in Kidapawan City, according to Phivolcs.

No aftershock and damage were expected, Phivolcs added.

The North Cotabato town was first struck with a powerful 6.6-magnitude earthquake on Tuesday. A 6.5-magnitude tremor later pounded Tulunan two days later. /jpv
