5 GCTA-freed convicts surrender in Calabarzon
SAN PEDRO CITY –– Five convicts released through the Good Conduct Time Allowance (GCTA) surrendered to authorities in Calabarzon.
In Calabarzon, convicts surrendered on Thursday evening, a few hours before the 15 days set by President Duterte lapsed.
A consolidated report from the regional police said two convicts surrendered in Naic and Dasmariñas City in Cavite province.
The first convict, 49, was convicted of two counts of robbery and homicide in November 1992. He was released from prison on June 6, 2017.
The second convict, 28, was released in March 2017. He was convicted of child abuse in 2013.
In Laguna, another convict submitted himself to the police in Calauan town. He was convicted of homicide on June 29, 2016, and was released through the GCTA last June 3.
