UPDATE: 5.9 magnitude quake jolts Batanes

MANILA, Philippines–A 5.9 magnitude earthquake shook Itbayat, Batanes at 7:37 am Saturday, about three hours after a 5.4 quake wreaked havoc in the northernmost municipality, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.
The offshore quake centered 21 kilometers northwest of Itbayat.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injury from the quake that struck at a shallow depth of seven km.
Phivolcs initially put the magnitude of the tremor at 6.4.
